The Rave Coder Integration component in Rave Architect enables Rave to integrate with Medidata Coder, a coding utility.
A coding dictionary is used to group clinical data into standardized terms for meaningful statistical analysis. During a clinical trial, verbatim terms entered in an eCRF in Rave are assigned to corresponding codes from medical coding dictionaries and subsequently used in outputs analysis. Using the Rave Coder configuration settings in Architect form designer you can specify how coding fields in an eCRF that originates in Rave should be handled by Coder and returned to Rave EDC.
To work with Coder Configuration, you must have:
Knowledge of Coder application
Access to Rave Architect
Appropriate Architect permissions to setup Study and work in Form Designer
See Coding Role Action
Requires Coder Coding Action Pre-condition.
Architect permissions are set in Rave Configuration > Security Roles > Actions.
Role actions and Action pre-conditions are set in Rave Configuration > Workflow.
In Rave Architect, navigate to Project > CRF Draft > Forms page.
Select a Form for which you want to configure Coder.
In the Form Designer, select a field you want to configure as "Requires Coder coding".
Note: Fields that require coding must be string fields. If you select a coding dictionary from the Coding Dictionary drop down list, the format for that field must be $n.
Select a coding dictionary from the Coding Dictionary drop down list. Dictionaries that are registered to a study in Coder are identified as Coder + [Dictionary Name].
Note: A coding dictionary must be registered for the specified Rave Study in Coder Project Registration page in order to appear in the Coding Dictionary drop down list.
