Component terms are used to map additional fields from Rave EDC to identify drug components when using the WHODrug dictionary or other coding dictionaries that have terms associated with components or drug information. Adding component terms can narrow the search and may help return faster results. It is optional to link component terms to a coding field.
Navigate to the Coder Configuration page from Architect Form Designer by selecting a Coder Coding Dictionary for a coding field.
Select a Name from the drop down list in the Component Terms section. Only fields in the selected form in Form Designer appear in the drop down list.
Select a Component Name from the drop down list. The list displays components from either B2 or C dictionaries, defined for the selected WHODrug dictionary and coding level selected in the Coding Level field.
Click Add Linked Field.
The field is linked to the component term and added to the coding request that is sent to Coder. An edit icon displays for each component term linked to the coding field.
Note: The Add Linked Field button will not display if the coding level selected in the Required Variables section does not have components.
Link additional coding fields to component terms as required.
