Overview of Tagging

Note:

For best user experience, Internet Explorer 7 and above, Firefox, Chrome, or Safari are recommended.

To access Tagging, the Tagging report must be assigned to you.

Tagging enables you to standardize integrations and reports across Rave studies. Tagging allows you to map a Medidata defined tag to Rave folders, forms, and fields.

For example, you have created two projects within Rave—project A and project B. In project A, you have defined Systolic Blood Pressure as SysBP and in project B, you have defined it as SystolicBP. Without Tagging application, the Rave report or integration will require referencing multiple terms, SysBP and SystolicBP, to retrieve the value of Systolic Blood Pressure. With Tagging application, the Systolic Blood Pressure tag is mapped to SystolicBP in project A and SYSBP in project B. The Rave report or integration will require referencing only the Systolic Blood Pressure tag to retrieve the value of Systolic Blood Pressure from projects A and B.

Tagging also enables you to define variables that are not available within a Medidata application through the use of study and global constants. For example, let us as-sume that Medidata has defined a constant—Study Start Date within Tagging for study A and study B. You can populate the Study Start Date for projects A and B. With Tagging, the Rave report or integration can then reference the Study Start Date tag to obtain the Study Start Date for both the studies.

Tagging contains the following tag types:

Folder Tags – Tags applied to your Rave folders. For more information, see Managing Folder Tags.

Form Tags – Tags applied to your Rave forms. For more information, see Managing Form Tags.

Field Tags – Tags applied to your Rave fields. For more information, see Managing Field Tags.

Study Constants – Single project tags defined as a string, date, or number constant for a single Rave project. For more information, see Managing Study Constants.

Global Constants – Multi-project tags defined as a string, date, or number for all Rave projects within a Rave URL. For more information, see Managing Global Constants.

Note: Tagging allows you to create mappings between tags and Rave folders, forms, fields, study constants, or global constants, but not the tags themselves.
