Data collected electronically must match the data collected first-hand from the subject. This is called Source Document Verification. Electronic data submitted in EDC is compared with paper forms such as patient charts, laboratory reports, or even Post It notes. Once this comparison is complete, an authorized user verifies the data entered in the system. The client specifies what must be completed before and after verification and when the review must begin.
