You can create, resolve, respond, cancel, re-query, close, forward or view queries if you have permission to specify queries at the role level. Marking a query on a data field requires follow-up, correction or clarification.
Queries consists of a text box, an optional dictionary containing permissible answers, and the option to require an explanation regarding the queried data. A query displays on the form page in pink or red, with a query message and the data entry field open for editing.
There are two types of queries:
Manual Queries
A manual query is created at the data point by a user with permissions.
System Queries
Pre-configured logic checks trigger a system query. If the data does not conform to the edit check, or a required field is left blank, the system triggers a query. The system generated query normally does not require a response. However, if a response request is posted, a user response text box or a dropdown displays.
The data field is highlighted and displays
a non-conformant icon . A query
message displays a data entry field open for editing. The query indicates
the required data that is needed to clear the query.
